 Head to Head Stats

Matches Played  10
SCO Won          5
NED Won          5

  • After the Netherlands first match, against hosts Ireland, was rained off, the Dutch will hope for better weather as they gear up to face Scotland.
  • Scotland's last two T20i series have been multi-team competitions, and both have included the Dutch and the Irish - the Oman Quadrangular and last year's Dutch Tri Series.
  • Scotland won both of those series, beating the Netherlands twice in Amstelveen in 2018, but the Dutch won their most recent meeting in Oman.

 NED vs SCO Toss Prediction

If the conditions are overcast and the pitch heavy, bowling first could be the best option. The Dutch did exactly that when these teams last met and may choose to again if they win the toss.

 NED vs SCO Weather Report

There is only a very low chance of rain forecast after the first match was called off, but conditions are still set to be cloudy, cool and overcast in Malahide.

 NED vs SCO Pitch Condition

It is a balanced wicket at Malahide usually, but there is likely to be some dampness in the outfield and the pitch could be a little slower than usual too.

Team NEWS:

 SCO Team News

Scotland have selected 14 of the 15 players set to head out to the UAE, with only Josh Davey absent from the squad in Dublin. Ollie Hairs has been recalled, while there is stacks of experience on show for the Scots too.

 NED Team News
Uncapped Vikram Singh is in the Dutch squad, while Clayton Floyd and Bas de Leede also get another chance to impress before the likes of Ryan ten Doeschate, Colin Ackermann and Roelof van der Merwe return to travel to the UAE.

 Key Players:

 SCO Key Players:

 Kyle Coetzer:
Dangerous at the top of the order and heads to Dublin on the back of his superb form in Scotland’s most recent ODI Tri Series in the new Cricket World Cup League 2. There, he scored three half-centuries – including a top score of 96 – in four innings.

 Hamza Tahir:
Starred in Amstelveen when these teams met in 2018 and is another to have been in excellent form during the Tri Series. He took ten wickets in three games.

 George Munsey:
Caught the eye with some of his big hitting in the Global T20 Canada and he has a T20i strike rate of 150.67 from his 24 Scotland appearances so far.

 NED Key Players:

 Tobias Visee:
Top-scored with 71 from 43 balls when these teams last met – one of the scores which has contributed to his T20i strike rate of 160. He also showed good form at the Global T20 Canada too.

 Max O’Dowd:
Twice passed 50 in the four matches against the UAE. He adds a good dynamic to the top of the order and his form has been consistent for the Dutch recently.

 Pieter Seelaar:
Useful with bat and ball and, of course, as captain. He is one of the more senior heads in an otherwise inexperienced squad.

Team Form:

NED Team Form

The Netherlands’ first match of this tournament was rained off. They made the trip to Dublin on the back of a young squad suffering a 4-0 series whitewash at the hands of the UAE. It followed a 1-1 series draw with Zimbabwe before that, with a much more experienced line-up.

SCO Team Form

Scotland’s most recent T20i action was at the Oman Quadrangular Series. They lost to the Dutch in their opening game there, but then won their final two to top the table. Against Ireland, George Munsey (50) and Kyle Coetzer (74) powered a chase of 181 in a six-wicket win. Against the hosts, meanwhile, it was the bowlers in top form. Adrian Neill and Mark Watt each took three wickets as they bowled Oman out for 111 on their way to another seven-wicket win.

All the best
