 Info:

  • Sydney Sixers play their final game of the Big Bash League 2019-20 league phase against bottom-of-the-table Melbourne Renegades.
  • The Sixers have won their last two matches to keep their hopes of a second-place finish - and a place in The Qualifier (so two attempts to reach the final) alive.
  • Melbourne Renegades' title defence has gone miserably, and despite a recent resurgence, they fell short in their bid for a third win in a row last time out.

 REN vs SIX Toss Prediction

Sydney Sixers were overdue winning the toss when they did exactly that and fielded first in their most recent game. It is an oft-used tactic at the SCG too.

 REN vs SIX Weather Report

Showers are forecast all morning in Sydney but they could clear by the afternoon and, while it will be humid, the match could escape the worst of the weather.

 REN vs SIX Pitch Condition

The SCG is generally well-balanced. There will be some turn, but it has not fully lost its batting credentials either.

Team NEWS:

 REN Team News

Aaron Finch and Kane Richardson are back from international duty, but the Renegades will be without Shaun Marsh (hamstring) and Sam Harper (concussion) after the two picked up injuries against Sydney Sixers. Finch will be a straight swap for Marsh, while Alex Doolan could be drafted in as replacement wicket-keeper having been an unused member of the squad this season.

 SIX Team News
Steve Smith returned last time out, replacing Justin Avendano, but Josh Hazlewood was not in the squad. The Sixers instead retained their pace attack of Jackson Bird, Tom Curran and Ben Dwarshuis and each of them took two wickets to justify their selections.

 Predicted Lineups (Playing11):

 Melbourne Renegades

Marcus Harris, Aaron Finch (c), Beau Webster, Alex Doolan (wk), Dan Christian, Mohammad Nabi, Jack Wildermuth, Samit Patel, Will Sutherland, Cameron Boyce, Kane Richardson.

 Sydney Sixers

Josh Philippe (wk), Dan Hughes, James Vince, Steve Smith, Moises Henriques (c), Jordan Silk, Tom Curran, Ben Dwarshuis, Nathan Lyon, Jackson Bird, Steve O’Keefe.

REN vs SIX Fantasy Team Guide:

 Team Guide:

WK-

-Josh Philippe is a must-have pick in SL as he is having an Average of 33.1 in 20+ T20s with SR more than 150. He will open the innings. Good C VC choice too. Smashed 81, 82 & 52 runs in three of the last 13 games but got out at only 15-20 runs in the rest of the games.

-Brayden Stepien will bat at one down. Though he doesn't have experience of playing any FC or List A matches but he had performed well in some club matches last year. It will we good to see such a young talent today as he is expected to play some good cricket.

 Batsman:

-Beau Webster is an impressive batsman who had batted very well till now in his T20 career as he had played 20+ matches and batted at an average of 37 with strike rate more than 130. He will open the innings today for MR. Good pick in SL especially if MR opts to bat first. Played six good knocks of 67*, 37, 29, 25, 49 & 50 runs from the last 9 games.

-Aaron Finch is another must-have pick in SL as he has been a consistent batsman who had played more than 270 T20s and batted at an average of 35.76 with strike rate near to 145. He has been in the form of his life this year. Good C VC choice in SL as he will open the innings too. Scored 29, 28, 50, 50 & 25 runs in the last five of the seven games.

-Tom Cooper will bat down the order. He is an experienced batsman who had played 140+ matches and batted at an average of 23.13 with a strike rate near 130. He had failed to play much with the bat but taken a couple of wickets. Good punt in SL if MR opts to bat first.

-Steven Smith is another must-have pick in SL today. He will bat at one down for Sixers. He is an impressive batsman who has experience of playing 182 T20 matches at an average of 31 with a strike rate near 130. He had played many top knocks in the T20 career. He is in good form too as seen during last series against IND. Good C VC choice in SL. Though got out at only single-digit runs in the last match but expected to see a good knock in this match.

-Daniel Hughes will open the innings for Sixers. He is another good batsman in SL who had been very consistent in his T20 career of 60 matches as he holds an average of 29 with a good strike rate. Good pick in SL and punt C VC choice too. Though Scored decent 22 runs in the first match and failed to cross even 10 runs margin in the next two matches but scored decent 35, 37, 40 & 24 runs in last four of the nine games.

-James Vince is an experienced batsman and good C VC choice in SL considering his form which is very good. He has played approx 210 T20 matches and batted at an average of 30 with SR of more than 130. He has smashed a century too in this format. He will bat at two down for Sixers. Played five good knocks of 39, 41, 37, 41 & 51 runs from last 12 matches. Got the good start in rest of the games too but failed to convert those in good knocks.

-Jordan Silk is another talent who is having experience of playing more than 60 T20 matches and batted at an average of 27 with a decent Strike rate too. Though he hadn't played many top knocks but can easily score 20-30 runs if bat's in the first innings as he will bat in the middle order. Selected by only 4% of users in D11. Managed to play only two decent knock of 32 & 36 runs from last 13 matches as he didn't got much opportunities to bat due to his Batting order.

 All Rounder:
-Tom Curran is a good bowler rather than a batsman. He has played 100+ T20 matches and batted at an average of 18 with good strike rate too. He has taken 125 wickets at an economy rate of 8.55, who will bat down the order played three well knocks of 43, 35 & 21 runs and taken 19 wickets too from last 13 Matches. Good C VC choice in SL.

-Moises Henriques is another good pick in SL considering his experience of playing more than 200 T20 games at an average of 26 with a good strike rate. He has taken 108 wickets too from these matches. Good pick in SL who will bat at three down. Punt C VC choice in SL today. Played four good knocks of 35,41, 41 & 71 runs from last 11 matches. Expected to see another good knock today.

-Will Sutherland had been very impressive in AUS ODD recently as he had performed consistently with both of his all-round abilities. Though he doesn't have experience of playing much T20 cricket but can emerge out as good punt in SL as he will do the late hitting and expected to bowl a couple of overs too. Didn't impressed much till now in any of the games.

~
-Samit Patel is an impressive all-rounder who had been very consistent in his 258 matches T20 career. He had batted at an average of 25 and taken 209 wickets too at an economy rate of 7.25 only. He will bat at three down and bowl full 4 overs too. Must have a pick in SL and choice of punt C VC too. Got 5 wickets in the last five matches and played a decent knock of 23 runs too.

-Daniel Christian is another good pick in SL who will bat two down and bowl a couple of overs too. He is an experienced all-rounder who has been very impressive in his T20 career of more than 300 matches in which he has smashed 4600+ runs with help of two centuries and taken 226 wickets too. Another Punt C VC choice in SL. Though didn't got much wickets in first Nine games but got 5 wickets in last three matches and played a decent knock of 35 runs too.

-Mohammad Nabi is a must-have pick in SL especially if MR opts to bat first and becomes Punt C VC choice too. He had played approx 250 matches and batted at an average of 22.24 with strike rate near to 145. He is a good bowler too as he is having 250 wickets at his name with an economy rate near to 7. He will bat in the middle order. Got two wickets from last four matches and played two knocks of 22* & 63 runs too.

 Bowler:

-Jackson Bird is a decent bowler who had taken 47 wickets in 54 T20 matches at a decent economy rate of 7.76 only. He is selected by only 46% of users and available in fewer credits too so becomes good punt today. Got 11 wickets from the last 10 Matches.

-Steve O’Keefe is a decent bowler who had taken 62 wickets from 79 T20 matches at an economy rate of 6.81 only. He is a wicket-taker bowler who usually takes a wicket in every match. Played five matches till now in this season and got only two wickets from them.

-Nathan Lyon is another good bowler who is going to play the first match of this season. He has taken 49 wickets from just 40 T20 matches at an economy rate of 7.17 only. He had been very good in recent times in a couple of series. Good pick in SL today. Gone wicketless in the first match but got a wicket each in the last two games.

-Ben Dwarshius is selected by 77% users in SL as he had taken 45 wickets in just 40 matches at a decent economy rate too before coming to this season's BBL. Expected to bowl full 4 overs in every match so becomes good pick in SL. Got 20 wickets from last 13 Matches which includes six times 2fer and a 3fer too.

-Cameron Boyce can hit some shots and bowl full 4 overs of his quota too. He holds a good record against the opponent team. Taken 74 wickets in his 70+ T20 matches career with a decent economy rate too. Good pick especially if MR opts to bowl first. Gone wicketless in both first two matches but got 13 wickets from the last 9 matches.

-Kane Richardson is a must-have pick today who had been a consistent wicket-taker bowler as he has taken 115 wickets in just 96 matches at a decent economy rate too. He has the ability to play some good shots too. Got 10 wickets from the last seven matches.

-Steven Smith and Beau Webster are the other two safe choices of C VC in SL.

 Key Players:

 REN Key Players:

 Aaron Finch:
The Australia captain is back to replace in-form Shaun Marsh, who has been one of the few positives for the Renegades this season. Finch did hit back-to-back half-centuries earlier in this competition, however, and scored an ODI century while away with Australia.

 Kane Richardson:
Claimed two four-wicket hauls already in this season’s competition, before taking four wickets in two matches for Australia in their ODI series in India.

 M Nabi:

Proved his all-round credentials once again when he took 1-24 and then hit 63 in the narrow defeat to Hobart Hurricanes. Had he not been dismissed, after hauling the Renegades into contention with eight balls remaining, it is likely they would have won.

 SIX Key Players:

 Tom Curran:
Another two wickets last time out took him to 19 in total for the BBL 2019-20 season, including five in the last three matches.

 Steve Smith:
Out for just nine on his BBL return last time out, but he still made an impact with three catches and he will look to return to top form with the bat now too.

 Team Forms:

 MELBOURNE RENEGADES:

After starting their title defence with nine straight defeats, Melbourne Renegades at least got back on track with two consecutive wins. They posted 172/4 to beat Sydney Thunder by 50 runs and then hit 164/6 in a 44-run defeat of Brisbane Heat next up – Cameron Boyce taking 4-15 as they dismissed the Heat in just 15 overs.

They batted second last time out and were set 191 to beat Hobart Hurricanes, but Mohammad Nabi’s 30-ball 63 had put them on the brink of victory. His dismissal with eight balls to go (and 12 runs needed) proved decisive, however, and they could only add a further seven runs to close on 186/4.

 SYDNEY SIXERS:

Sydney Sixers have got back on track with two consecutive wins. Moises Henriques hammered 72 from just 31 balls as the Sixers posted 143/4 in a rain-reduced 14-over game against Melbourne Stars. The Stars managed just 125/5 in reply.

And they followed it up last time out as a disciplined bowling display restricted Brisbane Heat to just 126/8, before Josh Philippe (52*) and James Vince (51) ensured the Sixers made light work of sealing an eight-wicket win.
