 Key Players:

 HUR Key Players:

Matthew Wade: The captain’s return is timely given Short’s departure. Only Short scored more than Wade’s 592 in last year’s Big Bash League, as he hit six half-centuries.

Qais Ahmad: The teenage leggie has taken eight wickets so far this season, with half of them coming in a brilliant spell against Sydney Sixers first up. He now has 52 T20 wickets in 40 innings.

David Miller: The big-hitting South African left-hander has been unable to replicate the form he showed for Durban Heat in the MSL, but his one-day record speaks for itself.

 HEA Key Players:

Chris Lynn: Brisbane’s turnaround form has coincided with the big-hitting opener’s return to form – including his 88* when these teams last met. He scored 31 from 13 balls last time out in a match-winning opening partnership.

Tom Banton: In a match reduced by the rain, the big-hitting Englishman got back to top form last time out as he hit seven sixes on his way to 56 from just 19 balls. It was his second half-century of this year’s tournament.

Zahir Kahn: Wickets in each of the last two matches have continued his solid performances so far. That his solitary over went for just seven last time out was also key in a rain-reduced game.

 Team Forms:

 Hobart Hurricanes:

Hobart bounced back from their defeat to Brisbane Heat, when they could only reach 181/9 in reply to 212/3, by beating Perth Scorchers last time out. The Hurricanes’ third win of this year’s BBL was built around D’Arcy Short’s unbeaten 103 from 70 balls in a total of 180/2. Scott Boland then led the bowling figures with 2-29 as they restricted the Scorchers to 172/8.

 Brisbane Heat:

Brisbane Heat have now won three of their last four BBL 2019-20 games, including each of the last two. Against Hobart Hurricanes, when they last met, Chris Lynn hit 88* from 55 balls in a total of 212/3 and the Heat claimed a 31-run win.

Their last match, against Sydney Thunder, was heavily impacted by rain but Tom Banton hammered 56 from 19 balls and Chris Lynn’s quickfire 31 helped them to 119/4 from just eight overs. They eventually won by 16 runs on the DLS method.
