 #INDvsNZ Toss Prediction

Nine of the last twelve completed one-day internationals (including the last five straight) played at this venue have been won by the team batting second. The toss-winning skipper, therefore, may want to bowl first in this match.

 #INDvsNZ Weather Report

The skies are expected to remain clear for most part of the day and chances of precipitation are almost down to none. Temperatures are likely to fluctuate between 18 and 23 degrees Celsius while humidity may not exceed 63% at any time during the game.

 #INDvNZ Pitch Condition

The pitch at the Seddon Park is usually very good for batting - something which was seen during the third T20I here last Wednesday with both teams scoring close to 180. The average first-innings score at this ground in ODIs is 233.

Team NEWS:

 IND Team News

Shikhar Dhawan continues to remain sidelined due to the shoulder injury he had sustained in the final game of the previous ODI series against Australia. Prithvi Shaw has been drafted into the squad as his replacement and looks set to make his  NZ vs IND ODI debut on Wednesday and open the innings. Rohit Sharma's calf injury in the fifth T20I at Mount Maunganui has ruled him out of the remainder of India’s tour of New Zealand and he has been replaced in the squad by Mayank Agarwal. If India decides to slot KL Rahul in the middle order, then Agarwal becomes the likely choice to open the innings with Shaw. Navdeep Saini could be picked ahead of Shardul Thakur while Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal will be fighting for one spot.

 NZ Team News
New Zealand will continue to be without their first-choice fast bowlers Trent Boult, Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson as they have not yet recovered from their hand, thumb and calf injuries respectively. The home team has called up pacer Kyle Jamieson in the squad for this ODI series but he is unlikely to feature in this opening game. Tom Latham has fully recovered from his finger injury and will don the wicketkeeping gloves on Wednesday. The Black Caps have left out Colin Munro from the squad which means Henry Nicholls will probably open the innings alongside Martin Guptill. Tim Southee does not seem to be in the best of forms and this might open the door for Scott Kuggeleijn. Meanwhile, the hosts have suffered another blow as Kane Williamson has been ruled out of the opening two ODIs due to the shoulder injury that kept him on the sidelines in the last two T20Is. Tom Latham will be in charge of the team in the absence of Williamson.

usually open the innings for IND but in this match he can bat at no. 5. He is a top class batsman who had been very impressive in his 29 matches ODI career at an average of 43. 12 with strike rate near to 90. Performed really well in last T20 series by scoring 50+ runs couple of times. Good C VC choice in SL.

-Tom Latham
will bat at three down. He is selected by only 38% users in D11 but he had been impressive in this format. Played 95 ODI matches and scored at an average of 32.27 with help of 4 centuries too. Punt C VC choice.

-Virat Kohli
will bat at one down. He is an evergreen player who is currently no. 1 batsman in the world having Average of 59.9 from 245 ODI matches with SR nearing 100. Must have pick in SL and default C VC too. Played very well in last couple of ODI & T20 series.

-Shreyas Iyer
will bat at two down. He is another young talent who is in form of his life as he is playing very consistent cricket as seen in last couple of series and in domestic cricket too. He is having Average near to 44.2 from just 15 ODI matches with good strike rate too. Must have pick in SL if IND opts to bat first. Played match winning knocks in last series.

-Prithvi Shaw
is going to make his ODI debut with this match. He will open the innings with Mayank Agarwal / L Rahul. Though he is only 20 years old but his skills are off another level as he had performed really well in FC & List A career. Performed well in international test & T20 series too. Good Punt in SL and best C VC pick in GL.

-Mayank Agarwal
He can open the innings in this match. He is another top class batsman who had performed really well in test cricket last year. He too is going to make his ODI debut with this match. Played relay well in List A cricket with an average of 50.1 in 82 matches at strike rate of more than 100. Good pick in SL especially if IND opts to bat first.

-Martin Guptill

He is an attacking batsman who will either play a good knock or gets out early. Though he had failed to perform well in ODI cricket last year but his decent form of this year makes him good pick in SL.

-Henry Nicholls

will open the innings. Best choice of C VC today in GL as he can be very good especially if NZ opts to bat 2nd considering his average of 34 in just 45 ODI matches with good SR too. Can be picked in SL if credit problm arises as he is available in only 8.5 credits. Played decent knocks in last 5 ODI matches too.

-Ross Taylor

will bat in middle order and a must have pick in SL especially if IND opts to bat first as he had batted at an average of 42.3 with SR more than 100 and taken 27 wickets too from 71 matches. His economy rate with bowl is pretty awesome. Performed decent in his Last ODI series against WI but expected to play better in this series.

-Jasprit Bumrah
is a must have pick in SL and punt C VC choice too. He is currently one of the top bowlers in international cricket. He had taken 104 wickets from just 61 matches at economy rate of 4.49 only. His yorkers are very tough to play.

-Mohammad Shami
is another good pick who had been the highest wicket taker bowler of year 2019 in ODI cricket. He is having 143 wickets at his name from just 76 ODI games at at economy rate of 5.57 only. He is having decent record against NZ in ODI cricket.

 Key Players:

 IND Key Players:

 Virat Kohli:
The Indian captain is currently the best batsman in the world when it comes to ODI cricket. Kohli is averaging 62 at the Seddon Park in this format and he has a half-century to his name from three innings at this ground.

 KL Rahul:
He is in sublime form with the bat. He was the 'Player of the Series' in the T20I series having finished at the top of the runs chart with 224 runs at an average of 56. Given the incredible form he is in, the Kiwis will want to get rid of him as early as possible.

 Jasprit Bumrah:
The number one ranked ODI bowler will pose the biggest threat to the hosts with the ball. The fast bowler finished as the second-best bowler in the preceding series with six wickets at a very healthy economy of 6.45. Bumrah will be the key man for India both in the powerplay as well as at the death.

 NZ Key Players:

 Martin Guptill:
The opener had an ordinary T20I series and he will look to make up for that in the ODIs. Guptill is averaging close to 53 at this ground and has two hundreds and as many fifties here in this format.

 Ross Taylor:
He scored the most runs for New Zealand after Colin Munro in the T20I series. The veteran batsman struck a couple of fifties one of which came in the last game. Taylor is also the leading ODI run-getter and is having an average of 54.42 at the Seddon Park.

 Mitchell Santner:
He is among the world's top ten all-rounders in the 50-over format. Santner has seven wickets at an economy of 4.68 at this ground and he is likely to bag the best bowling figures for New Zealand on a surface that seemed to offer some grip to the spinners in last week’s T20I.

 Team Forms:

Since losing the World Cup semi-final to New Zealand in England, India have played three bilateral one-day international series - two against the West Indies and one against Australia - and have emerged victorious in all three of them. The 'men in blue' secured a 2-0 series sweep against the Windies in West Indies before beating them again 2-1 at home. India's previous ODI series came against Australia last month at home. The hosts, after being humbled by a 10-wicket loss in the opening game, came back strongly to win the final two matches and take the series 2-1.

 New Zealand:

New Zealand have been in decent form of late in the game's fifty-over format. They won 13 out of their 21 one-day internationals last year. After a 3-0 whitewash of Sri Lanka at home, the Kiwis suffered a 1-4 series loss to India. They then blanked Bangladesh 3-0 in yet another home series before heading into the World Cup - their most recent ODI assignment. New Zealand were very impressive in that tournament and nearly won the final against England at the Lord's.

Lokesh Rahul(w), Mayank Agarwal, Virat Kohli(c), Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Shami, Yuzvendra Chahal, Jasprit Bumrah, Prithvi Shaw, Kuldeep Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Kedar Jadhav, Shardul Thakur.

Martin Guptill, Henry Nicholls, Ross Taylor, Tom Latham(w/c), Mark Chapman, James Neesham, Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Hamish Bennett, Ish Sodhi, Tom Blundell, Kyle Jamieson, Scott Kuggeleijn.

All the best
