 SA vs ENG  Toss Prediction

South Africa finally won a toss against England last time out and elected to field first and they may opt for the same with dew a factor in this second ODI.

 SA vs ENG Weather Report

Traditionally prone to thunderstorms, there is plenty of rain on the forecast for Durban for this second match of the series. With humidity high too, this could be a total washout.

 SA vs ENG Pitch Condition

Kingsmead has returned to being a faster wicket this year – it slowed down last season – and the batsman should thrive if they somehow get lucky with the rain.

Team NEWS:

 SA Team News

Lutho Sipamla and JJ Smuts both made their ODI debuts last time out, while Bjorn Fortuin, Janneman Malan and Kyle Verreynne are all awaiting their maiden ODI opportunities. Malan could play instead of Reeza Hendricks – the only batsman to fall short last time out – if South Africa do opt for changes.

 ENG  Team News
England’s team has a very different look to their World Cup-winning side, with Mark Wood, Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler rested, Jofra Archer injured, Liam Plunkett overlooked and Adil Rashid not risked last time out. Matt Parkinson and Tom Banton made their ODI debuts last time out and there was a long-awaited return to the 50-over format for Chris Jordan. All three could be handed another chance in the second game of the series, while Saqib Mahmood is also pushing for an ODI debut after replacing Archer in the squad.

SA vs ENG Fantasy Team Guide:

 Team Guide:

 WK-

-Quinton de Kock
will open the innings for SA. He is an experienced batsman who had played 116 ODI matches and batted at an average of 45+ with a good strike rate too. He is an impressive batsman who had been very consistent in his career till now. Must have pick in SL and choice of C VC too. Scored match-winning knock of 107 from 113 balls.

-Jonny Bairstow
will open the innings for the ENG. He is an attacking batsman who had batted at a strike rate of 103+ with an average of 47.21 in 74 ODI matches. He is another must-have pick in SL who usually scores a good amount of runs. C VC choice too in SL considering his form in this format as he is having 2 centuries and a couple of decent knocks too from the last 5 matches though got out early in the first match.

 Batsman-

-Joe Root
will bat at one down. He is an experienced and reliable batsman who had batted at an average of 51+ in 144 ODI matches with a strike rate near to 100. Though he had failed to perform well last year but expected to see a top knock in this match. Good pick in SL and choice of Punt C VC too as he is having a good record against SA by scoring 545 runs in just 11 matches.

-Jason Roy
will open the innings for ENG. He is an attacking batsman who had batted at an average of 42+ at a strike rate of 107+ in 85 ODI matches. He had batted really well in the last 5 matches by scoring 50+ runs three times. Though he is available in 10.0 credits but popular pick in SL considering his form. Punt C VC choice if you are able to manage credit.

Good C VC choice too especially if ENG opts to bat first.

-Joe Denly
will bat at three down. He had performed really well in test matches last year with the bat. He is available in fewer credits and selected by fewer users too but his form is pretty impressive so becomes good punt choice in SL. Batted decent in his short ODI career of 14 matches. Scored 87 in the last match. Best C VC choice in GL.

-RVD Dussen
will bat at two down. Though he had played only 18 ODI matches but batted at an average of 78 with decent strike rate too. He had performed well last year in a couple of T20 leagues and international matches too. A popular pick in SL and punt C VC choice too. Scored a decent amount of runs to lift his team to win.

-Reeza Hendrick
will open the innings for SA. He had performed very well in a couple of T20 leagues last year but failed to perform well in ODI matches as he is having an average of 25+ only from 19 matches. Expected to perform better in this match considering his recent form. Good credit saver picks in SL.

-Temba Bavuma
will bat at one down He is a must-have pick in SL considering his consistency since his international debut last year as he had smashed runs at an average of 80.50 in 2 ODI matches. Available in fewer credits so becomes a good pick in SL as he is a reliable batsman. Scored match-winning knock of 98.

-David Miller
will bat at three down. He is an experienced batsman who had batted at an average of 38+ from 127 matches with a good strike rate too. He had performed decently in BBL this year. Good pick in SL as he is available in fewer credits and selected by fewer users too.

 All Rounder-

-Chris Woakes
is a good batsman and impressive bowler too. He had played 99 ODI matches, batted at an average of 25.02 and taken 143 wickets too from these matches. Must have pick in as especially if ENG opts to bowl first as his Batting is likely not to come.

-Andile Phehlukwayo
will do the late hitting and bowl full overs too. He is a wicket-taker bowler who had taken wickets consistently as he is having 64 wickets at his name from 52 matches and batted at an average of 32.29 with good strike rate too. Must have a pick in SL as SA his batting is likely to come and bowl full overs too.

~

-Sam Curran

-Moeen Ali
will bat in middle order and bowl full overs too. He is a must-have pick in SL and punt C VC choice too. He had batted at an average of 25.59 in 101 ODI matches and taken 84 wickets too. Expected to take a couple of wickets in this match and scored decent runs too if plays.

is a decent bowler who had taken 22 wickets from 18 matches at an economy rate of 5.34 only. He is available in fewer credits and selected by fewer users so he becomes a good pick in SL.

 Key Players:

 SA Key Players:

 Quinton de Kock:
Led from the front last time out as he hit 107 from 113 balls at the top of the order, including 11 fours and one six, to ensure South Africa’s victory was never in doubt. He passed 5,000 ODI runs in the process.

 Rassie van der Dussen:
Not enough time to add an eighth ODI half-century in his 15th innings in the format last time out, but his unbeaten 38 does mean his average climbed to 78.

 Tabraiz Shamsi:
Now stepping up to lead the South African spin attack in place of Imran Tahir, he shone on his first assignment as he took 3-38 from his ten overs last time out.

 ENG  Key Players:

 Jason Roy:
Set the tone with 32 at the top of the innings last time out, in a 51-run partnership with Jonny Bairstow. The big-hitting opener has scored 18 ODI half-centuries and nine centuries and averages 42.66 in the format.

 Eoin Morgan:
The England captain is closing in on 7,500 ODI runs and boasts an average just below 40 in the format. He has reached 50 on 59 occasions in total, converting 13 of those into centuries.

 Chris Woakes:
Played his 100th ODI last time out, and he has 143 wickets to his name in the format, as well as a useful 1,226 runs from 69 innings down the order – including four half-centuries. He scored 40 and took 1-36 last time out to prove his all-round worth.

 Team Forms:

 SOUTH AFRICA:

While their World Cup was ultimately a disappointment, victories in their last two matches of the tournament and then another in the first match of this series does mean South Africa have now won three in a row. Quinton de Kock’s century and Temba Bavuma’s 98 ensured a Proteas’ victory never looked in doubt last time out as they comfortably chased 259 to win for the loss of just three wickets.

 ENGLAND:

This is England’s first ODI series since being crowned world champions with their dramatic win against New Zealand at Lord’s in a super over. With a much-changed team they fell well short last time out, however – posting 258/8 which owed much to Joe Denly’s 87. In reply, they took just three wickets as South Africa cruised to victory.

 SQUAD:
 SOUTH AFRICA:
Quinton de Kock(w/c), Reeza Hendricks, JJ Smuts, Rassie van der Dussen, Temba Bavuma, David Miller, Andile Phehlukwayo, Lungi Ngidi, Bjorn Fortuin, Beuran Hendricks, Tabraiz Shamsi, Janneman Malan, Sisanda Magala, Lutho Sipamla, Kyle Verreynne.

 ENGLAND:
Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow(w), Joe Root, Eoin Morgan(c), Joe Denly, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Matthew Parkinson, Dawid Malan, Saqib Mahmood, Tom Banton, Patrick Brown.
